 Julianne Strom (6&u, 7 - 8 ) julianne.strom@comcast.net

Julianne Strom just finished her second year at Cal Poly SLO where she is studying business. She loves swimming and swam for Del Prado as a 7-year-old until graduation. She taught swim lessons at Del Prado for three years and found this to be extremely rewarding, and is really looking forward to coaching this summer.

 John Reimer  (9-10) reimer_jr@sbcglobal.net

John started swimming competitively as a freshman at Terra Linda High  School in San Rafael and swam all four years there. For several summers,  he also swam for a local Marin County summer swim league team. After turning 18, John worked as an assistant coach for two summers for this  team. Particularly memorable were some of the field trips each age group  went on, such as the 8&U boys acting like monkeys at the San Francisco Zoo
and the 9-10 girls putting on a show and singing for tourists in Ghiradelli Square.

John attended CalTech, swimming (mostly butterfly and  long-distance freestyle) and playing water polo for four years. After  graduating, he worked for JPL, attended grad school at USC,and swam for  the local Master’s swim team, competing in both pool meets and ocean  swims.

John and Rosario were married in 1996 and moved back to the Bay  Area in 2001 to be closer to both their families, with John taking a  position with Lockheed-Martin at NASA Ames Research Center. They have two  sons on the Stingrays, James (9 years old) and Steven (6 years old).  Sometime in the future their third son, David (4 years old), will  hopefully join the team as well.

 Tom Juarez (11-12, 13-14) tgjuarez@sbcglobal.net

Tom swam for Del Prado in 1990 and 1991.  He began helping coach in 1992 and was an assistant coach from 1993-1999. He was varsity swim coach at Foothill High School from 1998-2001.  Tom met his wife at Del Prado and our 2 kids currently swim for the team.

 Jamie Plummer ( 15-18 ) dunebug03@aol.com

Jamie started swimming at Del Prado Cabana Club when she was 2 and joined the swim team at age 6. She swam Varisty for FHS from 2000-2003. All four years she was an All League swimmer as well as a swimmer for their NCS team.

After high school, Jamie attended Chico State and graduated in May of 2007 with a BA in History and an option in social sciences. This past year she has been the JV cheerleading coach at San Ramon Valley High School and JV swim coach for Foothill. As well as being active with the students outside of the classroom, she has also been participating in the education inside the classroom.

Jamie just finished her single subject teaching credential and will be starting the masters program this summer. This will be Jamie’s 9th year working at the pool and 6th year coaching a team that she considers to be part of her family. GO STINGRAYS!

Del Prado Swim Team Coordinator

Joan Strom Coordinator stromj5@comcast.net

This is Joan’s thirteenth season involved with the Del Prado Swim Team board and her seventh season as coordinator. She loves this job and the swim team. Her children have been swimming for the Stingrays since 1995. Her two youngest still swim and her oldest daughter is now the 6&u and 7-8 coach. Her husband Jay is the team announcer so this is really a family affair. When she’s not by the side of the pool cheering on the team you can catch her gardening or working at Alden Lane Nursery.
