Tri-Valley Swim Championships 2010

Mapquest Directions to DBAC

Hi. I finally have all the pieces of information ready to share with you for champs on Saturday. Attached is a map of the DBAC lawn area. This year all teams have been assigned a spot. We will rotate each year to the next letter in the alphabet. Our spot for this season is area “F.” This is the only allowed area for Del Prado. I need to tell you that the city of Pleasanton asks that no plastic tarps of any kind be laid on the grass. Blankets, towels, or any breathable material is fine, just not plastic. Also, there is no alcohol of any kind allowed on these premises.

All swimmers must be checked-in with their coach by 7:00 a.m. Please do not be late. Plan for more time to park and unload and look for your coach ASAP. The scratch meeting will be at 7:15 sharp. We plan to start the meet at 8:00. Our warm-up time is 7:30-7:50 a.m., and we have lanes 11-15.

This is an all-day meet. If I had to guess, I would say the meet should be over sometime around 4 p.m. Bring lots of towels, activities to keep you busy/entertained, drinks, sunscreen–just like a regular meet…but it just goes a lot longer. There will be a league snack bar available. Those of you who missed the pre-order of the championship t-shirts, you will be able to purchase one the day of the meet for $12. Look for a booth selling them. You can park anywhere around the aquatic center that is a legal parking place.

Look tomorrow on our league website, www.trivalleyswim.us, for the meet program. I would suggest each family print out one of these. Those of you working line-ups will receive a print-out on Saturday morning, specific to your age group.

This is our biggest meet of the year. Swimmers, please get lots of rest between now and then. There still seems to be a lot of germs hanging around our pool, and we need a full, healthy squad to do our best.

I think that’s it for now. If you have any questions/suggestions/concerns, please let me know. Thanks again to all of you who are helping with this meet. We couldn’t do it without you. :)

Good luck, Stingrays!

Joan

Del Prado Calendars Online

Hi Folks,

Sammy has been hard at work creating a new online feature with the help from the good folks at Google. We now have a way to view our Del Prado Cabana and Stingray Swim Team events for the 2010 swim season.

Sammy’s Cove – Here is my special site that holds the combined calendars for the Del Prado Cabana and the Del Prado Stingray swim team.

Reminders for Champs

July 31, 2009

Tomorrow is our big day. I’m very excited for this meet. The weather looks favorable to swimming and hanging out all day with friends. Now is our time to show up pumped-up and ready to swim–the fastest! Parents, it’s our job to keep our swimmers excited and encouraged. If everyone tries their best, we’ll win in so many ways. I truly believe, no matter what the outcome of the meet is, that we are the best team in the league. I enjoy so much being a part of it. I’m going to miss seeing you all at practice and Saturday mornings may be boring for a while…

Everyone must be checked-in with their coach tomorrow morning by 6:45. The scratch meeting will be at 7:00, and the meet should begin at 8:00. If you need directions to this pool in Livermore, please contact me.

Our team’s warm-up time is 7:20-7:35. Throughout the day lanes will be available to warm-up and cool-down. These lanes will open on the hour for 15 minutes. These lanes are only for practicing. No goofing around allowed.

A great league snack bar has been planned. You can look forward to these items for sale: Starbuck’s coffee, bagels, donuts, pizza, Subway sandwiches, Dennis’ famous pulled-pork sandwiches, Jamba Juice, potato salad, cole slaw, fruit salad, water, nachos (regular and deluxe), candy, caesar salad, hotdogs (chili cheese as well), and Mr. Softee ice cream cones. Whew, I’m hungry already.

Lastly, our party is Sunday. Please bring a side, salad, or dessert to share. It looks like we’ll begin serving around 4:30-ish instead of 5:00. Once everyone has eaten, the dessert bar will be opened and then we’ll begin our awards program.

Good luck, Stingrays.

Go Del Prado!!

Kids don’t get too caught up with the times on the paper. If the US. Men’s relay team believed more in the times on paper than what was in their hearts then French relay team would have won the gold at the 2008 Olympics.
