Awards Banquet – August 1st

July 28, 2010

Hi. Here’s a little information regarding our awards banquet on Sunday.

The banquet is our last swim team activity for the season.

Your swim team will provide burgers and hot dogs and drinks, and we ask that each family bring either a side dish/salad/dessert to share. This is a team potluck.

Please remember that no ceramic or glass is allowed at the pool. We will begin serving dinner at 4:30 p.m.

Starting at 6:00, we will honor all our swimmers with recognition and awards, followed by a slide show.

For those new to our team, you might want to bring chairs to sit in and blankets for your swimmers to lie on.

Thank you to Cindi Sabatini and Hillary Bessiere for organizing this event for us and thank you to “the staff” of regular BBQ-ers who always help us with this fun event.

Go Stingrays!

Tri-Valley Swim Championships 2010

Mapquest Directions to DBAC

Hi. I finally have all the pieces of information ready to share with you for champs on Saturday. Attached is a map of the DBAC lawn area. This year all teams have been assigned a spot. We will rotate each year to the next letter in the alphabet. Our spot for this season is area “F.” This is the only allowed area for Del Prado. I need to tell you that the city of Pleasanton asks that no plastic tarps of any kind be laid on the grass. Blankets, towels, or any breathable material is fine, just not plastic. Also, there is no alcohol of any kind allowed on these premises.

All swimmers must be checked-in with their coach by 7:00 a.m. Please do not be late. Plan for more time to park and unload and look for your coach ASAP. The scratch meeting will be at 7:15 sharp. We plan to start the meet at 8:00. Our warm-up time is 7:30-7:50 a.m., and we have lanes 11-15.

This is an all-day meet. If I had to guess, I would say the meet should be over sometime around 4 p.m. Bring lots of towels, activities to keep you busy/entertained, drinks, sunscreen–just like a regular meet…but it just goes a lot longer. There will be a league snack bar available. Those of you who missed the pre-order of the championship t-shirts, you will be able to purchase one the day of the meet for $12. Look for a booth selling them. You can park anywhere around the aquatic center that is a legal parking place.

Look tomorrow on our league website, www.trivalleyswim.us, for the meet program. I would suggest each family print out one of these. Those of you working line-ups will receive a print-out on Saturday morning, specific to your age group.

This is our biggest meet of the year. Swimmers, please get lots of rest between now and then. There still seems to be a lot of germs hanging around our pool, and we need a full, healthy squad to do our best.

I think that’s it for now. If you have any questions/suggestions/concerns, please let me know. Thanks again to all of you who are helping with this meet. We couldn’t do it without you. :)

Good luck, Stingrays!

Joan
