What a wonderful meet tonight. It started by entering our pool area. I absolutely LOVED seeing all our wonderful DP posters. I was so excited, I almost wanted to jump in the pool and be a Stingray. (Don’t worry. That’ll never happen.) Everyone was on time and we had no scratches. Yippie!! Another wonderful thing about tonight’s meet. Then that cheer. Gives me chills every time I hear and see it, and it always makes me laugh. And then those races. Stingrays, you were pumped-up and ready and you showed it in the pool.
Thank you to all our wonderful parent volunteers. Tonight’s meet seemed to go so smoothly. It was a fast, efficient, and well-run meet. Thanks.
Thank you, swimmers, for showing up on time and ready to race. I asked you all last night at the pasta feed if you were going to swim fast. You answered, “yes,” and you did. Special congratulations to the 15-18 medley relay team of Stephanie Doi, Niki Doi, Jaclyn Strom, and Elaina Gates for bettering their own record tonight to a 1:59.36. Congrats also to Jack Payan for bettering his own 50 free record to 22.50, and Stephanie Doi broke a two-year-old record in the 50 free to a 25.46. Ryan Hogue, you were a trooper tonight. We hope you feel better soon, and Vincent McMasters, we hope your knee heals quickly as well.
Coaches, I loved the outfits, the cheer, everything. Keep up your hard work and thank you for being a big part of our team.
Our next meet is Saturday, July 10, against the City of Dublin at their pool. This will be our first and only away meet this season. It will take some time to drive there so plan accordingly. The address of the pool is 8157 Village Parkway, Dublin. Directions can be found on this Map. All swimmers should arrive and be checked-in with their coach by 7:45 a.m. The scratch meeting will be at 8:15 and the meet should begin at 9:00.
That’s it for now. I keep saying it, our championship meet this year is going to be very interesting….
Go Del Prado,
Joan
