That was a close one! The competition in our league is getting stronger and stronger. I think the days of lop-sided victories are gone. The competition is good. We need to keep practicing and swimming fast.
Thank you, families, for communicating to us your availability to swim and honoring our request to get us that info in a timely manner. We only had one scratch today compared with Dublin’s “too many to count.” As a coordinator, I’m very proud of our team. It sure makes life much easier on me and on our coaches. We all appreciate your help with this. A special thanks to Jim Bahls and Russ Bell for stepping up to time at the last minute today. Please remember if you get a sub, tell Beth
so she knows who to track down if you aren’t there. And a note to line up parents, you are doing a great job getting the kids to their races on time. A good rule is to start lining them up 5 events ahead of time, any longer than that isn’t necessary.

Swimmers, your times continue to improve so much. Keep up the great effort. Those “big kid” swimmers who’ve been helping at practice with the “little ones” is paying off with faster times by our younger swimmers. It again makes me proud to see our team helping each other. You all should be proud. Another great example of great teamwork and sportsmanship was seeing our little swimmers helping each other get out of the pool during warm-ups. It was adorable and precious.
Coaches, you’re the best and continue to be great examples of great coaching. If it hasn’t been said enough, let me say again, we appreciate all your efforts and time given to our team. We have a short season but an intense one. I know you put a lot of time into helping us have one of the best swim programs.
We have a pasta feed on Tuesday. Your swim team board will be serving up a great meal to all swimmers immediately following all three practice sessions. This meal is for swimmers only. Families are welcome to stay and enjoy the evening, but the meal will be for swimmers and coaches only. We need to carbo-load them for our big meet against Club Sport which is Wednesday, July 16. All swimmers need to be checked in with their coach by 5:00 p.m. The scratch meeting will be at 5:15, and the meet will begin at 6:00. I look forward to seeing the pool surrounded by cheering fans.
The deadline to notify coaches if your swimmer won’t be swimming at the Ruby Hill meet on Saturday, July 19 is Monday.
That’s it for now. Take good care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Go, Stingrays!
